Round 7 - Seniors Comeback falls agonizingly short v Monash Blues

The Senior men had a tough loss to the Monash Blues on Saturday, going down by 1 goal. A great performance with promising signs for the balance of the season. Crunch game this week v Old Geelong

RESERVES v MONASH

The Reserves were back at home this week against the second placed Monash Blues. We knew coming in that it was going to be a tough match, but the boys were ready to give it a crack coming off the Hampton win.

In what is becoming a familiar storyline, there was a solid effort across the score, however the occasional lapses proved costly against an experienced Monash team.

Again, there are plenty of positives to come out of the game, especially the fact that we have a very young list that is learning and getting better each week. We look forward to seeing what we can do against Old Geelong this weekend.

WOMEN v WILLIAMSTOWN

The Pink Panthers ventured out to Williamstown with a strong line up and hopes of a win. Once the Sun came out, conditions were perfect for a good battle between two teams searching for their second wins of the season. Unfortunately for the Pink Panthers, Williamstown were bolstered by a couple of VFLW players and they were able to outscore us by a couple of goals each quarter to run out as eight-goal winners. Maddy de Amicis was superb in her return from injury while Tess Neaves shouldered the bulk of the load in the ruck. Meg Witchell was used all over the ground and put her body on the line constantly. Jesse Hamill was a rock down back before limping off with an ankle injury and was well supported by Hannah, Courtney & Ella in the backline. The highlight of the day was Hayley’s first goal for the Pink Panthers.

OMFC 1.2-8 def by Williamstown 9.7-61
